Welcome to the Howard County Mutual Insurance Association web site. Since 1890, we have been providing insurance to farm and home owners in Northeast Iowa.

Howard County Mutual Insurance Association is based on an insurance system in which the insured persons become company members, each paying specific amounts into a common fund from which members are entitled to compensation in case of a loss versus a stock company, which is controlled by stockholders, who are entitled to dividends based on the number of shares owned by each stockholder.
